We provide ESA-ready itemized receipts upon request. We make no guarantee of approval by any state agency.

  • ESA-funded subscriptions are subject to the rules and restrictions of the applicable state program.
  • Refunds for ESA-funded accounts may need to be returned to the applicable scholarship program per program rules.

  • Upload content that is unlawful, offensive, or infringes third-party rights.
6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Captain Homeschool uses artificial intelligence to generate lesson plans, quizzes, essay feedback, and other educational materials. While we apply multi-layer verification systems, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. Parents and guardians are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before delivery to students. We are not responsible for educational outcomes based on AI-generated content.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction in Florida. This policy complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Florida Information Protection Act (FIPA), and applicable federal and state privacy laws.

1. COPPA β€” Children’s Privacy (Under Age 13)
Important: Captain Homeschool is an educational platform designed for use under parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without verified parental consent. All Student Accounts for children under 13 must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian.

Parental Rights: As a parent or guardian, you may review your child’s information, request correction or deletion, and revoke consent at any time by contacting us at privacy@captainhomeschool.com. Upon account deletion request, we will purge all associated student data within 30 days.

2. Information We Collect β€” Parent Accounts

This Student Account Policy governs the creation and use of Student Accounts on the Captain Homeschool Platform. All Student Accounts are created and managed exclusively by a parent or legal guardian (“Parent”) through the Parent Account. Students do not independently register or access the Platform without parental setup.

1. Account Creation & Parental Responsibility
  • Only a verified parent or legal guardian may create a Student Account.
  • The parent is responsible for all activity occurring under any Student Account linked to their Parent Account.
  • Parents must ensure that login credentials are not shared with individuals outside the household.
  • Parents may add up to the number of students covered by their active subscription tier.
  • Parents may delete, pause, or modify any Student Account at any time from Account Settings.
2. Student Access & Dashboard

Student dashboards are designed for age-appropriate, supervised learning. The student-facing interface displays only:

  • Today’s assigned lessons and activities (approved by parent).
  • Quizzes and exams assigned by the parent.
  • Progress tracking and Well-Rounded Scoreβ„’ display.
  • Captain Connectβ„’ local activity recommendations (view only β€” parent controls enrollment).
  • Captain Screenβ„’ approved video content β€” no direct YouTube access.
3. Parental Review & Approval Gates
Nothing reaches your student without your approval. All AI-generated lessons, quizzes, essay prompts, and YouTube video recommendations go through a parent approval gate before appearing in the Student Dashboard. Parents may review, edit, reject, or approve all content.
4. Captain Screenβ„’ β€” Content Filtering

Captain Screenβ„’ automatically screens YouTube videos for age appropriateness and faith-track alignment before placing them in the parent approval queue. Students never have direct access to YouTube or any external video platform through the Captain Homeschool interface. Only parent-approved video links appear in the Student Dashboard.

  • Attempting to disable, bypass, or circumvent Captain Screenβ„’ is a violation of these Terms.
  • Parents may toggle Captain Screenβ„’ sensitivity settings in Account Settings.
  • Captain Screenβ„’ is not infallible β€” parents should always preview video content.
5. Acceptable Use by Students

Students accessing the Platform agree (as enforced by their parent/guardian) to:

  • Use the Platform only for assigned schoolwork and approved activities.
  • Not attempt to access features, accounts, or data outside their Student Dashboard.
  • Submit their own original work on all quizzes and assignments.
  • Not share account credentials with other students or individuals outside the household.
6. Data & Privacy for Students

Student data collected by Captain Homeschool is limited to academic performance records, progress data, faith track, and state. We do not collect photos, location data, or contact information from students. All student data protections described in our Privacy Policy & COPPA Notice apply fully to Student Accounts. Parents may request complete deletion of a student’s data at any time.

7. Account Suspension or Removal

Captain Homeschool reserves the right to suspend or close Student Accounts that are used in violation of this policy, are associated with fraudulent activity, or where we have reason to believe the account is not being supervised by a parent or guardian. We will notify the parent on record before taking action, except where immediate action is necessary.

We want every Captain Homeschool family to feel confident before committing to a subscription. This Refund Policy explains your options during and after the Try-or-Buy window.

1. The 3-Day Try-or-Buy Window
3 Days to Explore: All new paid subscriptions include a 3-day Try-or-Buy period. During this window, you have full access to all features included in your plan β€” lessons, AI generation, quizzes, Captain Connectβ„’, and Captain Screenβ„’. We encourage you to sail every deck before committing.
2. Refund Eligibility β€” The 72-Hour Rule
No Refunds After 72 Hours.

Refund requests are only honored if submitted within 72 hours of your initial subscription purchase date and time. Requests submitted after 72 hours will not be approved, regardless of whether you are still within the 3-day Try-or-Buy window. The 3-day window is an exploration period β€” it does not extend refund eligibility beyond 72 hours.
Time Since PurchaseRefund Available?Platform Access
0 – 72 hoursβœ… Yes β€” full refund, no questions askedFull access
73 hours – 3 days❌ No β€” 72-hour window has passedFull access continues

3. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund within the 72-hour window:

  • Email support@captainhomeschool.com with the subject line: “Refund Request β€” [Your Account Email]”
  • Include your name, account email address, and the date and time of purchase.
  • We will process approved refunds within 5–10 business days. Refunds are returned to the original payment method.
4. Annual Subscriptions

Annual subscriptions are subject to the same 72-hour refund window. If a refund is approved for an annual plan within 72 hours, the full annual payment will be refunded. After 72 hours, annual subscriptions are non-refundable. Annual subscribers may cancel at any time, and access will continue through the end of the paid annual period.

5. ESA-Funded Subscriptions

If your subscription was paid using ESA or state scholarship funds, any approved refund may be required to be returned to the applicable scholarship program rather than to you directly, in accordance with that program’s rules. It is your responsibility to notify your scholarship program of any refund or cancellation.

6. Cancellation (Non-Refund)

You may cancel your subscription at any time from Account Settings. Cancellation stops future billing but does not generate a refund for the current billing period. You will retain full Platform access through the end of the paid period. Monthly subscribers who cancel will lose access on the day after their billing period ends.

7. Exceptions

In cases of verified technical failure that prevented access to the Platform for a sustained period, we may offer account credits or partial refunds at our sole discretion. Contact us at support@captainhomeschool.com if you experienced a platform outage during your subscription.

Plain-English Summary: When Captain Homeschool recommends curriculum materials or educational products, some links lead to Amazon. If you click one of those links and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission β€” at no additional cost to you. Your curriculum recommendations are based on educational quality, not commission rates.
1. Amazon Associates Program

Captain Homeschool is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

2. What This Means for You
  • When you click an Amazon link from Captain Homeschool, a tracking cookie may be placed in your browser.
  • If you make a purchase through that link within the applicable window, we receive a commission (typically 4–8% depending on product category).
  • You pay the exact same price you would pay if you went directly to Amazon. Our commission comes from Amazon, not from you.
  • You are never required to purchase anything through our affiliate links.
  • You can always search for the recommended product directly on Amazon if you prefer not to use our affiliate link.
3. Our Recommendation Policy

Captain Homeschool is built on a “Free Resources First” philosophy. Our AI curriculum engine exhausts CK-12, OpenStax, Khan Academy, Project Gutenberg, and other free resources before recommending paid materials. When paid resources are recommended, they are selected for educational quality and alignment β€” not because they generate higher affiliate commissions.

  • We do not accept payment from publishers or curriculum companies to appear in recommendations.
  • Amazon affiliate commissions do not influence which products we recommend to your family.
  • All affiliate links will be identified with a disclosure note in the Platform.
4. FTC Compliance

This disclosure is provided in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission’s guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255) and the FTC’s Disclosures 101 guidelines for affiliate marketing. We are committed to full transparency about our affiliate relationships.

5. Other Affiliate Programs

In addition to Amazon, we may participate in affiliate programs with other educational curriculum publishers or retailers. Any such relationship will be similarly disclosed in Platform content and in this disclosure. As of the effective date above, Amazon Associates is our primary affiliate program.

6. Questions About Affiliate Links

If you have questions about whether a specific link is an affiliate link, or if you would like a non-affiliate link to any recommended resource, please contact us and we will be glad to provide a direct link.

Questions: AAMJ Consultants LLC Β· Florida, USA
Email: support@captainhomeschool.com
We are glad to clarify any affiliate relationship or recommendation.
